~ ABOUT US ~

We are first and foremost an avian adoption service.  We exist solely to help unwanted or found parrots to find homes.  We are also a bird “rescue” in that we will do everything possible to remove a parrot from a harmful situation, but this is something that only happens very occasionally.  Mostly, we are here to help people who can no longer care for their birds.

If you are looking for that right bird please email or call us to see if we have one for you.  If you are looking to place one with us, please contact us about your sweet bird.

In 2002 I wanted to adopt my first parrot and I started to look for an African Grey.  I found

one in 2003, but this little guy needed so much help.  This was Jojo the Grey -- my start-up rescue bird.  This was the beginning of Jojo the Grey Adoption and Rescue for Birds Inc.

I found out that there was a bird club in my area, which I joined in 2004.  I had already been doing adoptions out of my home for some time.  I started to do the adoptions for my local Bird Club in 2005.  In 2007, I went back on my own again.

I have done many adoptions and I continue get to see most of the birds that I have placed.  It is a great feeling to see the birds doing so well in their new loving homes.  I intend to keep finding the right home for birds.

What a job!  Yes, this is my job -- taking care of all of the birds that come my way.  I love finding that right home for them.  I've learned so much

with them too.  Every one of them is loved and cared for by many people (all trained volunteers) before they go on to that right home.

It's a lot of work but it's very rewarding.  I continue to see many of the birds that have been adopted through our rescue at bird clubs where I am a member.  Also, from time to time I receive letters from people who have adopted birds from the rescue.  The generosity of many individuals, organizations, and companies help to provide food and vet care to the birds in our care.

Marta is the webmaster.  She is a computer programmer by profession and owner of three parrots -- two of which were adopted from Jojo the Grey Adoption and Rescue for Birds.
